We believe that there are 5 dimensions to a child's development. These are the physical, the vital, mental, psychic and spiritual dimensions. We also believe and therefore approach from the premise that each learner is unique, complex and evolving person and needs an environment that accepts his / her uniqueness. Therefore, while traditional institutions like play schools and schools focus mostly on mental and intellectual education, we at ipsaa lay greater emphasis on developing the child across all 5 dimensions. Towards this end, we provide an environment of 'a large family home' where children are nurtured, cared for and guided by experienced and trained adults through indirections and not directions, This means that we allow the learning process to come to the fore and guide the child, rather than directing them, thereby enabling the child to learn through experiences rather than directions.
When the focus is on developing each of the 5 dimensions simultaneously through a flexible yet defined and customized program, then the result of that activity manifests in the transformation of the behaviour and approach of a child leading to the enrichment in their personality and in their interactions with the world at large, for example In the physical dimension, our focus is on developing the hygiene of the child, their exercise and food habits, their rest & sleep, their physical coordination and body flexibility and grace of movement, their poise and balance. This is achieved by observation, tracking and monitoring a child and their interests and engaging them through social games, dance, theatre or story telling etc.
Another example could be our approach to developing the vital dimension where our approach is to cultivate the senses and a discriminating mind. This helps the child adopt desirable qualities such as truth, sincerity, courage, perseverance etc. This is achieved
through constant observation & dialogues as well as special vehicles such as "Choice Time" where we encourage children to make their own choices and explain / reinforce these values. For smaller children just the experience of free choice is an enabling and educational one.
Another example could be on the mental, psychic and spiritual dimension where we focus on developing concentration powers, calmness of mind, receptivity to new stimuli,as well the virtues of kindness, being good
We believe that children grow best in environments where they can express their creativity and individuality and evolve intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually. ipsaa is designed like a large home filled with warmth, love and carefully given freedom, and aims to provide for each child's holistic growth and encourage lifelong learning.
We lay unparalleled importance on child psychology, and this comes through in our philosophy to let the child "be", rather than "become" based on societal expectations. This is also our core offering. And by letting the child "be", by listening and understanding the needs and feeling of the child, we enrich the magic of
childhood.
We are committed to providing a nurturing and caring environment with
specialized infrastructure that is child friendly, nutritious and homely food cooked in our in house supervised kitchens, access to emergency medical care and the utmost care towards the safety and security of the child.
Safety of children coming to ipsaa centres is of utmost importance to us. Right from selection of space to choice of furniture, everything is child friendly. Besides this, the team undergoes regular training for child safety norms. CCTVs are placed and monitored constantly for added security
Parents are discouraged to bring a sick child to Day care centre. Sick children may infect other children and staff members who come in contact with them. Sick children want care from their parents in the comfort of their own homes.
If other children become ill due to exposure to your sick child, either because he/she was returned to day care center before full recovery or because he/she was not picked up promptly upon notice of becoming ill, other parents will be unnecessarily inconvenienced. Because this is disruptive to other children and their families, your cooperation on this issue is extremely important. If your child is unable to participate in the normal activities of the Day care (including being able to play outside), then your child must stay home
We follow international standards when it comes to ratio of care takers to children. The ratio of Mentor Mums in 1:3 for 6 months to 1 years old, 1:10 for 1-2 years and 1:15 for 5+ years. We also have care givers assisting mentor mums at a ratio of 2 caregivers for every mentor mums handling children upto the age of 2 years.
Our focus is on providing care, nurturance and guidance in building capabilities of all of our children through a carefully constructed and customized program devised for each child based on observation, dialogue and identified needs. This is then monitored and implemented with the active knowledge and involvement of parents. Thus we do not run activities for the sake of activities.
It is a combination of our dedication and resources as well as the expert care we have on hand .Our aim is to weave a wonderful experience for children and to give wings to their dreams.
